BOND, Judith Mary "Judy" (née Lang) died peacefully at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock, Ontario on March 11th, 2019, at the age of 79. Judy is survived by her children, Catherine (Dave Mills) Bond-Mills of London, David (Marsha) Bond of Bracebridge, and Valerie (Chris) Powell of Toronto. She is survived also by her sister, Barb (Bill) Hall of Waterloo. She loved and was much loved by her grandchildren Caitlyn and Amanda Bond, Brendan and Allison Mills, and Hannah, Noah, Abigail, and Benjamin Powell. She is also survived by Steve Richards and Ruth-Ann Boos, much loved and cherished "third floor" Bond family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ruth Lang, and her husband, David Bond (1986). Judy taught high school for many years, first at Woodstock Collegiate Institute and then at College Avenue Secondary School. Many special friendships sprang from those years, and it was clear that she touched the lives of many students…and she was touched by their lives in return in later years. Judy was a life-long learner. She completed several courses at the University of Waterloo after her retirement from teaching. She was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Woodstock and served faithfully in many capacities for many years. In her retirement years she spent time traveling, serving in her church, volunteering within the community, and enjoying her growing family of grandchildren. Judy's children would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the compassionate care Mom received during her time at Woodingford Lodge. We are indebted to you for your kindness and caring, especially during Mom's final days. A visitation will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home located at 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock 519-539-0004 from 3:00 until 5:00 and 7:00 until 9:00pm on Wednesday, March 13th. A funeral will be held at the same location on Thursday, March 14th, at 11:00 am with Pastor Phil Fraser officiating, reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy's life. A private interment will follow later in the spring. If desired, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Woodstock, the Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario, or the Woodingford Lodge Palliative Care Resource team.
