It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Johanna Van Ostaeyen, at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care, London, on November 29, 2024, in his 98th year. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Maria Van Ostaeyen (nee Van Looveren) (2021). Cherished father of Rita Warren (George), John Van Ostaeyen (Evelyn White), Frank Van Ostaeyen (2023)(Nancy),  Bernie Turpin (Rick), Charlie Van Ostaeyen (2023), Marilyn Greer (George Clemens), and Anita Lange (Gary). Dear grandpa to Lindsay (Kevin), Erin (Andrew), Matt (Stephanie), Megan (Chris), Jeremy (Erin), Nicole (Tony), Tyler (Kierstin), Christie, Dan (Shannon), Jaclyn (Chad), Kendra (Kalen), Kelsey (Brandon), Erika (Kyle), Colin (Meghan) and Ivan (Abbie), and great-grandpa to 24+1. Predeceased by his granddaughters Tanya (1989) and Katie (2005). Joe was the oldest and last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by a large extended family in Belgium.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 10 am with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 11:00 am.
