SMIT, Joseph Ysbrand Gerardus - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joe at University Hospital, London, on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022, in his 66th year surrounded by his family. Dear husband to Miritza Smit-Urrieta for 22 years. Proud father of Justin, Ryan and Hillary Smit. Loved brother of Ineke (Jos), Eric (Janette), and Annemieke (Roy). Eldest son of Leo Smit and Annie Smit-Hemels from Holland. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and extended family in Holland and Venezuela. Friends are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, (519)539-0004, on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will take place at Holy Trinity Church on Thursday, December 29th, 2022, at 11:00 AM. If desired, memorial contributions to Brain Canada Foundation, L.H.S.C.
