SLEEGERS, Joseph “Joe” Cornelius- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, December 11th, 2022, in his 76th year surrounded by his family. Dear husband to Inez Tromp (1993) for 23 years and Laurie Munro. Proud father of Julie (Steve) Vandendool and Terry (Marcie) Sleegers. Loving grandfather of Justin, Jeffrey (Kyra) and Brett Vandendool, and Tyler, Ryan and Brynlee Sleegers. Loved brother of Peter (2014) (Sue), Tony (2012) (Mary), Bill (Irma), John (2018) (Dorothy), Annette, Harry (Anna Marie), Joke (1947), Gerry, Al (2019), Louis (Joanne (2022)), and Jackie (Mike). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their spouses. Extended families of Robert Andre, Barbara Fitzpatrick and Alisa (Dan) Roland and their children & grandchildren. Joe will also be greatly missed by the Tromp family where they have many cherished memories. Joe was the proud owner of Sleeger-Ridge Farm in Embro for 44 years. Joe had a ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality and was proud of the dairy farm he established which he eventually transitioned to a broiler operation. Joe was well respected in the community and made friends easily. He especially enjoyed entertaining family and friends in his shop and always welcomed visitors and industry acquaintances. His smile and friendly demeanor will always be cherished. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at University Hospital for their care and support and also the loving family and friends that were by his side in his last days. Friends are invited to join the family at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., (519-539-0004), on Sunday, December 18th, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
