Joseph Kolsen

JOE KOLSEN - February 22, 1917 - May 24, 2009 Slept peacefully away at the home of his daughter and son-in-law at the age of 92. Predeceased by his wife Helen (1999), brother and three sisters. Sadly missed by his daughter JoAnne Crozier (Woodstock), Lynn Kolsen (Calgary), Susan Kolsen (Kitchener), his son-in-law Bill (Nick) Crozier, grandson Nick Kolsen (Sara) and twin great granddaughters of New Zealand. Joe barbered in Bracebridge and after moving to Kitchener in the early 1960's opened the Electric Shaver Centre. He had a great sense of humour, always enjoyed having his many garage sales, was a wonderful accordion player, loved a game of cribbage and trips to the casino, but treasured family gatherings the most. We are so grateful to the C.C.A.C. case manager Jan MacKinnon; Saint Elizabeth nurses Linda, Jennifer, Kim, Margaret, Richelle; Red Cross, Physical Relief, ProResp, Axcess, and Dorothy Gilcrest for their compassionate care and support. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karen Fryer, Kristen Delgado, and P.S.W. Dianne Chilcott for tenderly helping Joe on his journey with peace and dignity. And thank you to Greg, Jennifer and Adam at the Longworth Funeral Home for assisting us in our wish to keep things simple. It was Joe's wish to have a private family service which has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, if desired, you may donate to the " Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary", 1116 Crawford Street, Rosseau, Ontario, P0C 1K0, in Joe's memory.
