FOHKENS - Joseph (Johannes) October 20, 1926- June 29, 2010. Gone to be with the Lord, Joseph passed away peacefully at the Woodstock General Hospital in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Anna Fohkens (nee VanderByl). Loving father of Edna (St. Catharines) and Joseph Jr. (Woodstock). Predeceased by his parents Henry (1955)and Johannna (1971), his brothers Hank (1985), Jack (2003), and sister-in-law Hilda (1990). Survived by his brother George and his wife Pat of Sarnia, sister-in-law Alie Folkes of Hamilton. Brothers and sisters-in-law Simon and Alice VanderByl of Sarnia, Janny and Martin Slofstra of Medicine Hat, Bill and Sue VanderByl of Scotby, England as well as several nieces and nephews. As per his wishes, Joseph has donated his body to The University of Western Ontario for medical research. A memorial service will be held at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Lansdowne Ave. Woodstock, on Saturday July 17, 2010 at 11:00am.
