John Bowman "The Duke" Way

WAY, John B. - At his residence on Tuesday January 13, 2015 in his 64th year. Beloved husband of Nena L. (nee Cocchetto) for over 40 years. Dear father of Marci (Jerome) Yeoman and Michael Way. Cherished grandfather of Brennan and Cole. Loved brother to Ruth and Bob Nancekivell, Ellen and Ron Johnson, Gene Way, George and Tammy Way, Mary and Paul Rooke; son-in-law of Laura Cocchetto and brother-in-law of Nadia (Edward) Dukes and Jim (Sandra) Cocchetto. John is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; Currie and Dorothy (nee Bowman) Way, father-in-law Giordano Cocchetto and by his brother-in-law Umberto "Bob" Cocchetto. John retired from Toromont as a diesel mechanic in 2012 where he was fondly remembered as "The Duke". He was very community minded, involving himself with Harvestfest and Salford Community Hall. He was a faithful man to his family, friends and church. John had many good friends because his door was always open and people enjoyed his hospitality and great sense of humour. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday January 15, 2015 from 7-9 pm, and again on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service to honour John's life will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 3:00 pm with Pastor Shawn Robinson officiating. Interment later in the Harris St. Cemetery.
