WATLING - With his soulmate, life partner and lover for 55 years by his side at the Woodstock General Hospital on Saturday August 2, 2008. John Wesley Everett of Woodstock, Born February 6, 1921 in Point Aux Carr, New Brunswick. Beloved husband of Jean Louise McColl-Watling of Woodstock. Son of the late Willard George Watling (1971) and the late Clara May MacDonald (1976). Surviving are a son and daughter and three grandchildren. Dear brother of Clarence Watling and his wife Mary of Woodstock, Robert Watling and his wife Mignomme of Mississauga, Osbourne Watling and his friend Gertrude of Pickering, Kenneth Watling and his wife Shirley of Orillia, Winnifred and Liz of Woodstock, Ruby Taylor of Napan Bay, N.B., Mary Glendenning of Black River Bridge, N.B., Geneva Sweezey of Napan Bay, N.B., Sadie and Watt McLenaghan and Jean and Norman Glendenning all of Black River Bridge, N.B. Loved brother-in-law of Hazel Watling of Glenwood, N.B. and Marie Watling of Woodstock. Predeceased by his brothers Ernest, James (Jimmy), Cedric, George, Lawrence and his sister-in-law Mary. John served in World War II for 5 years as Staff Sergeant in the Army and served for 30 years as Sergeant on the Woodstock Police Department. Currently, John was employed by Electrolux Canada and had worked there for the past 35 years. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday August 7, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Faith United Church (Central Building), 34 Riddell Street, Woodstock, 519-537-2373 on Friday August 8, 2008 at 2:30 pm. Interment in Hillview Cemetery.
