Van Wyk- Peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital on Friday May 23, 2008. John D. VanWyk of RR #4 Woodstock in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Joanne VanWyk (nee Bon). Dear father of Debbie Good and her husband Rob of Elmira, Diane Murray and her husband John of Woodstock, Monique VanWyk of Mississauga, Jerry VanWyk and his friend Nicki of New York, John VanWyk and his wife Melanie of Woodstock. Loved opa of Brittney, R.J. and Garret Good; Ashley, Tyler and Laura Murray; Jaiden, Corsen and Kaelen Parker; Adam and Evan VanWyk; Reanne, Connor, Serena and Emerson VanWyk. Dear brother of Cor VanWyk and his wife Annie of Hamilton, Ted VanWyk and his wife Lucy of Woodstock, Miens VanWyk and his wife Dena, Greet Bunschoten and her husband Toon all of Holland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Annie, Corrie and by a brother Egbert. John was a prominent Holstein Breeder in Oxford County for many years, winning many prestigious awards. He was an avid fisherman, member of the Oxford County Breeders Association, former President of the Dutch Canadian Club as well as a volunteer for the Red Cross as a driver and the Heart and Stroke Foundation as a team leader of canvassing. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish 904 Dundas Street Woodstock Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Father Augustine Ogundele as celebrant. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
