John De Verne Tucker

TUCKER- Peacefully, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at the Woodstock General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 1, 2010. John (Jack) Tucker of Woodstock in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Carole Wilson. Cherished son of the late John and Ethel Tucker. Dear father of Janet Johnson and her husband Earl, Karen Waud and her husband Bill, and step-father of Annette Taylor and her husband Greg, Andy Wilson and his wife Lynda all of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Christine, Shane, Michael & Daniel; Taralee and John; Evan; Natasha and Nathan. Dear brother of Jim Tucker and his wife Linda of Huntsville, Judith MacDonald and Randy Small, Stephen Tucker and his wife Jean all of Woodstock. Loved son-in-law of Edith Everitt of Calgary and brother-in-law of Donna Hazelton and her husband Reg of Digby, N.S., Sharon Milner, Brenda Everitt and her partner Dave all of Calgary. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was a longtime employee of Gardiner Denver in Woodstock as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 55 Woodstock. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11:00 am with Rev. Margaret Murray officiating. Interment later at Anglican Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
