SPEARS- After a long and courageous battle at the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday November 11, 2008. John Spears of Chapel St. Woodstock in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Spears (nee Weeks)(2002). Dear father of Catherine Spears and her husband Steven of Toronto, Nancy Strickert and her husband Paul of London, Mary Sears of Woodstock, John Spears Jr. of London, Ruth De Fauw and her husband Michael of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Derrick and Sarah Strickert; Harley and Dylan Sears; and Grace De Fauw. Dear brother of Dorothy Szoke, May Anderson, Ronnie Spears, Romina McMaster and Ivan Spears. Also survived by his beloved pet dog Kita. John was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch# 55 Woodstock. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004) Friday 2:30-4:30 & 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Saturday at 11:00 am.
