John Risbee Searles

SEARLES - At his residence on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, John Risbee Searles of People Care, Stratford, and formerly of Delatre St., Woodstock, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Pansy Marie (nee Tabor) Searles (2004). Dear father of Linda Carlisle and her husband Russell of Stratford, Barb Searles of Woodstock, and John Searles and his wife Connie of Ingersoll. Loved grandfather of Stephanie (Brendon), Andrew, Benjamin (Nicole), Brett, Caitlin, Dennis, and Cora. Dear brother of Gord Searles (Mary) of Woodstock, Bill (Marian) Searles of Eastwood, Reg Searles (Peggy) of Port Credit and Bob Searles (Brenda) of Simcoe. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Ellen, Beatrice and Gert. John was a gifted cabinet maker and skilled woodworker. Another passion was his gardening and enjoyed his time with family fishing and camping. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday November 27, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dave Elliott officiating.
