MILLER, Jack - Of Woodstock, Ontario passed away peacefully on Thursday May 26, 2016 at home with his family by his side at the age of 76. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Jane (Tuttle) Miller. Loving father of Mike (Susan) Miller and Leanne (John Hartog) Miller. He will be missed by his 2 granddaughters Natalie & Nicole Miller. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Iva. On a blustery January day his mother travelled from their farm near Mitchell by horse and sleigh to Stratford General Hospital where he was born. He grew up on the family farm until the age of 10 when his family moved to Grand Bend. He attended South Huron District High School in Exeter and completed a B.Sc. in Chemistry at the University of Western Ontario. Jack taught science and coached volleyball at Woodstock Collegiate Institute for over 30 years. Since his retirement he has enjoyed travelling, curling, playing golf and spending winters in Alabama and Florida. We would like to give a warm thank you to Dr. Karen Fryer, Nurses Ronda and Renee, Nurse Practitioner Joanne King and all of the PSWs for your dedicated support. In keeping with Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 31st, 2016, from 7-9pm at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004. The funeral service will be held at St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Ave, Woodstock on Wednesday June 1st, 2016 at 11:00 am with Reverend Jane Van Patter officiating. A reception will follow at the church. A private interment will take place at Hillview Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pancreatic Cancer Canada would be appreciated.
