John Eric Oliver Mcilveen

McIlveen, J. Eric O. Peacefully at home in Woodstock, Ontario, on March 14, 2009, in his 83rd year. Eric is survived by his beloved partner, Fran Kelly, his children Nicholas, Susan (John van Vliet), Patricia, Antony (Gord Wornsop), and Michael (Shehla), and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Donald and Gilbert (Joyce). Eric was predeceased by his beloved wife, Irene (1990). Eric taught and coached football, both with passion, at Huron Park Secondary School in Woodstock from its opening in 1955 until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid golfer and opera lover with enthusiasms for woodworking and crafting stained glass. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, ON, (519-539-0004) on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. Donations are encouraged to the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation or St. Elizabeth Health Care.
