John Benedict Mcgrath

MCGRATH - At Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday August 6, 2009. John Benedict McGrath of London and formerly of Woodstock in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Joyce McGrath (nee Westbrook)(1985). Dear father of Joy Ross of Byron, Maureen Wenkoff and her husband John of Wakefield, Quebec and father-in-law of Sheila Flynn-McGrath of London. Loved grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Pat McGrath (1977), sister Mary Rice and his brother Harry McGrath. John was a retired Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces, was involved in the United Nations as well as the Canadian Military for over 35 years. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday August 7, 2009 from 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 904 Dundas Street, Woodstock, 519-539-0876 on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 11 am with Father Richard Dales officiating.
