MacRobbie, John (Iain aig Merag an Ogha) - Born in Renfrew, Renfrewshire, Scotland June 24, 1927, passed away December 24, 2009 at London Health Sciences Centre with his loving wife Rose Mary (nee McKay) and youngest son William James by his side. He is survived by his son John and his wife Michele of Calgary, AB and grandchildren Jamie, Michael, Megan, and Iain Jr. Also survived by his twin sister Betty (Alistair) Urquhart of Renfrew, Scotland and his brother William (Faith) of Inverness, Scotland, the McKay clan and friends. Predeceased by his mother Mary MacKenzie and his father William MacRobbie and his first wife Patricia Gray-Brown. Iain was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and the Zorra Caledonian Society. He played and taught in the Ingersoll Pipe Band for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Mocha Temple. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 for parish prayers at 6:15 pm and for visitation from 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 904 Dundas St., Woodstock, on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. If desired, contributions to the Ingersoll Pipe Band, Holy Trinity Catholic Church Building Fund, or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
