John passed away in the comfort of his home on October 7, 2023. Born on September 15, 1925 in Inverlochy Castle near Fort William, Scotland, son of the late Dougald and Violet (Warren) MacDonald. Beloved husband of the late Doris (Waterhouse) MacDonald and beloved partner and constant companion of Doris Champion. Loving father of Iain (Janine), Lynne (Ray) and Bruce (Michelle). Proud and loving Papa of Michael (Cassandra), Heather (Kevin), Andrew (Melanie), Adrienne (Katharine), Richard (Amanda) and Colin (Lindsay). Delighted to be a great grandfather of Sarah, Alexander, Tasia, Madison, Aiden, Colin, Cameron, Liam, Paislee, Hannah, Skye, Bennet and Camryn. Dear brother to Thomas (1981), Alastair (2015), Barbara (2023), Roy (2016) and Jean (2011). The family would like to thank Dr. Berta and the nursing and homecare team for their compassionate care.
Friends will be received at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas St., Thamesford, on Thursday October 12 from 12-2pm. Funeral Service will take place at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at St John's Anglican Cemetery, Thamesford.
