John Housworth

HOUSWORTH - With his family by his side on Saturday April 4, 2009 at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus. S. John Housworth of Woodstock in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Doreen Housworth for over 15 years. Dear father of Donna Haycock and her husband Douglas of Port Rowan, William Housworth, Brenda Watson and her husband Gary and Terry Housworth and his wife Janet all of Woodstock and step father of Terry Coulthard and her husband David of Oakville. Loved grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. John is also survived by a brother and several sisters. Predeceased by his wife Marion (nee South) Housworth (1992) and by step daughter Shelley Carson. John served during WWII in the Merchant Navy and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock and was a past employee of the City of Woodstock. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday April 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Bruce Genge officiating. Interment in the Anglican Cemetery. Contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
