John Alfred Burdock

BURDOCK - Peacefully, with his loving family at his side, at the Woodstock General Hospital on Friday March 7, 2003. John A. Burdock of Edgewood Dr., Woodstock in his 81st year. Beloved husband for 59 years of Beatrice E. Burdock (nee Arundell). Adored father of Karen Brown (Winston Archer) of Woodstock and John Burdock (Rosemary) of Brampton. Cherished grandfather of Angela Rivier of Woodstock, Darian Brown (Brenda) of Steinbach, Manitoba and Jesse and Matthew Burdock of Brampton. Treasured "Popsi"of great grandson, Jordan Bard. Dear brother of Elsie Derkach of Norquay, Saskatchewan, Maryon Saunders of Oakville, Anne Bulbak, and extended family, Helen, Margaret and Frank. John will be sadly missed by many family members in England, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was a decorated Canadian Army Veteran of WWII, Past President of Malton Legion Br. #528, and proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock. John's career as Quality Control Manager at Timberjack of Woodstock will be fondly remembered and respected by many colleagues, friends and family. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004, Sunday 7-9pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel, Monday at 1:30pm with Reverend Kirby Constable officiating. Interment later in the Hillview Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital Building Fund would be appreciated. A legion service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30pm.
