John Blakeley

BLAKELEY, John - At the Woodstock Hospital on Friday August 2nd, 2013 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Florence Ilene Blakeley (nee Wood), and the late Sheila Dorothy Blakeley (1997). Loving father of Kevin (Mary Ellen) and cherished grandfather to John Jacob and Jawni -Marie of Woodstock. Dear step-father of Sandra (Clifford) Bertrand of Norwich, Mark (Cathy) Redman of Delhi, Wendy (Randy) Sinden of Cambridge, Donald (Nancy) Pite of Otterville and Brian (Shirley) Pite of Sarnia. Much loved step grandfather of many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother Lawrence (Dot) Blakeley. John was manager with Maher Shoes for over 40 years as well as an active member of South Gate Centre, Woodstock where he loved to volunteer, get together with his friends for a good game of pool, also play darts and TaiChi which helped to keep him fit and active. Fishing was also a love of John's and he swore he always got the biggest one. John and Flo met at the South Gate Centre and got married there on February 14, 2004. They loved to travel ad John took many pictures where ever they went. Rest in Peace my kind and gentle husband. A Celebration of Life will be held at the South Gate Centre, 191 Old Wellington St. S., Woodstock on Wednesday August 7th 2013 at 2:00 pm with reception to follow.
