Johannes 'Hans" Mackaay

It is with profound love and respect that we announce the passing of Johannes L W H Mackaay, (Hans), after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He gently passed into the arms of his Saviour on January 10, 2024 at Woodingford Lodge where he was loved and cared for over the last year.

He leaves behind his wife Janny with whom he shared almost 66 years, his daughters, Ina (Dale Skillings) and Janny (Brian Hughes) and, his five grandchildren and their partners (Julie and Dan; Erica and Tyler; Jeff and Erin; Matthew & Stephanie; Scott and Samantha), and five great-grandchildren (Aria, Austin, Skyler, Cora and Ember). Hans was the last of his generation.

A life well-lived,

A heart well-loved, and

A soul eternally cherished.

A service of song and praise to God for Hans life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Woodstock at 11am. As per his wishes, there will be no flowers and no visitation. Donations may be made to Sakura House.
