Joe Knapper

KNAPPER - Surrounded by family, on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at LHSC - University Campus, Joe Knapper went to be with our heavenly Father in his 81st year following complications of a stroke. Beloved husband to Jenny Knapper (nee VanArkel). Dearly loved father, grandfather and great grandfather to daughter Jenny and her husband, Andy Bouma and their children, Sarah (Ethan, Ally), Mark and Karla (Jaden, Dallas), Kristin, Ryan, Chad, daughter Judy and her husband, Gord Haas and their children, Jessica and Ryan, Daniel, son Joe, son Russ and his wife, Brenda and their children, Aaron, Adam and Emily, son Ron and his wife, Joyce and their children, Brittany and Kristen and daughter MaryJo and her husband, Jeff Cain and their son, Lucas. Loved brother to Aletta and Al Fendrick, Ada and Phil Tamminga, Harry and Carol Knapper, Paul and Elaine Knapper, Tena and John den Hartogh; sister-in-law to Mary DePutter and Betty VanArkel. Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Alice Knapper and brothers and sisters, Emma, Bert, Engel and Grace. Joe was a long time resident of Sarnia, where he was an active member of his church and community and shared the gifts God gave him in carpentry, wood working, ham radio and gardening. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place at Bethel United Reformed Church, 862 Alice Street, Woodstock, (519-533-1536) on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 12 pm.
