Joannes "John" Antonius Vanderpas

VANDERPAS, Joannes (John) Antonius Maria - Passed away peacefully on Friday August 9th, 2019 at the Woodstock Hospital in his 90th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Francisca “Ineke” Maria Elizabeth Vanderpas. Survived by his children Carol, Bonita (Steve), Yvonne, and Yolanda (Robert). Loving Opa to Michelle, Erik, Jeremy, Joshua, Ashley (Matt), Ryan (Sara), Nicole (Alex), Samantha (Ben), and Graeme. Great Opa to Zoey and Khai. Missed by loving family friend Doug. Born in the Netherlands, Joannes became a master painter and moved to Canada to start a family. Joannes is remembered by his friends and family as a “cat with nine lives”, surviving many obstacles and taking many risks during his 90 years, doing everything he did for his family. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life, Wednesday August 14th, 2019 from 1 - 3pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004). Words of remembrance will be held at 2pm. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Sakura House, and to the Woodstock Hospital Palliative Care unit.
