PLANCKE, Joan Marilyn - Embraced by the angels of those who passed before her, Joan M. Plancke (nee Card) of Woodstock died peacefully and suddenly at her home in Woodstock, on Thursday, March 29th, 2018. She was in her 74th year. Beloved mother of Julie (Barry) Maltby and the late Laurie Plancke (1995). Dear sister-in-law of Kay Card. Predeceased by her brother Damon Card (2014), her beloved partner Robert McCann (2009), and her loving parents Hazel (2007) and Norman (2002) Card. Friends and family are invited to visit with the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Friday April 6, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The service will be held in the Brock and Visser chapel on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Walsh United Cemetery, 941 Charlotteville Rd. 5, Walsh. Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew her fun-loving spirit, resilience, thoughtfulness of others, and love of her family and friends. Joan was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, and these lyrics are a fitting tribute from Julie to her beloved mother: "I guess I'll never know the reason why You love me like you do. That's the wonder of you." If desired, memorial contributions to the Trans Canada Trail or the World Wildlife Foundation-Canadian Chapter would be appreciated.
