Jim F. Porter

James (Jim) Frederick Porter of Woodstock, ON, passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 5, 2025 in his 71st year at The Woodstock General Hospital. Jim was born on December 9, 1954, to Harold and Mabel Porter in Ingersoll, ON. Jim attended the University of Waterloo where he earned a bachelor's degree with honours in Kinesiology. Jim worked as a civil servant for the Federal and Provincial Government for 36 years, and retired in 2014. Jim is survived by his fiancé Debra DeClark, children Bradley (Rachel), Warren, and Brett, and his grandchildren Blake and Kendall. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Laura Porter, and his parents Harold and Mabel Porter. Visitation will be held at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on January 18, 2025 at 10am with funeral service to follow at 11am. Following the service everyone is welcome to join friends and family for a reception. Private Interment will follow at Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, ON. Memorials or donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
