It is with sadness in our hearts but we celebrate that Jerry is now in the loving arms of his Saviour.
Predeceased by his father Harm and mother Sijbrigje (Shelia) Valk. Born in Kornhorn, Netherlands, Jerry immigrated with his family to Canada in 1957. Jerry worked as a licensed tool and die maker for 45 years. He was a hard worker all his life but always made time for his family. Jerry loved being outdoors, with a particular love for camping. Jerry could be counted on to “look at” a broken lawn mower, bicycle, or sewing machine, usually being able to fix anything. Kris was the love of his life, taking care of her until the end, ensuring that she ate her apple each day. He was the best Dad to Ryan and Jessica (Adrian), making time to build bicycles, go for walks, have discussions, with a particular interest in American politics.
He was the best Grandpa to Rhianne and Kenny. He was the best Pappy to Hayley, Evan, Hannah. He was a loving brother to Margaret (late Jack), Shirley (Jan), John (Elly), Ann (John), Martha (Henry), Alice and Dorothy. He was a fun uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was a humble man, wanting everyone to be comfortable and relaxed. It is with this in mind we ask everyone who would like to attend the visitation and/or funeral to dress in casual attire.
Visitation will take place on Saturday December 21, 2024 from 11 am -12:45 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1 pm all held at Ingersoll Christian Reformed Church (429 King St. W. Ingersoll, On.) A private family burial will take place at Oxford Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers who cared for Jerry so lovingly.
