MacKAY- Suddenly, at the Woodstock General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Sunday July 1st 2007. E. Jean MacKay (nee Slaght) of R.R.# 2 Tavistock in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Dwight M. MacKay. Dear loving mother of Laurence and his wife Mary of R.R.# 5 Embro, Margaret MacKay-Calder and her husband David Calder of Waterloo. Loved grandmother of Erin (Jeremy Turpin), Davina, Blair and Carmen MacKay; Lauren, Ally and Reid Calder. Dear sister of Jack Slaght and his wife Joyce of Woodstock, Ed Slaght and his wife Mary of Alberta, Gordon Slaght and his wife Bonnie of Crediton, Wayne Slaght and his wife Joanne of St. Thomas and sister-in-law of Max MacKay and his wife Arlene, Willard MacKay and his wife Mary all of Embro. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jean was an elder and a member of the U.C.W. at Knox United Church, Embro, belonged to the Braemar Women's Institute as well as volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society. The funeral service will be held at Knox United Church, Embro on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Judy Campbell officiating. Interment North Embro Cemetery.
