Jean Pearl Hogg (nee Bennetto) 1920-2013 On Saturday morning, July 20th, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Michael's Hospital. Jean Pearl Hogg, 93 of Toronto, formerly of London and Thorndale, Ontario, born June 14th, 1920 in Windsor. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas James (1994). Cherished mother of Juel Hogg of Toronto, and Virginia Birnie (Nigel) of Simcoe, and grandmother to Colin and Reagan Birnie. She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends from Toronto, London, Thorndale and Windsor. Jean graduated from London Normal School and treasured friendships from the class of 1940. She also graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1972 and enriched the lives of those who knew her as an elementary school and kindergarten teacher, and through her involvement in her church and community. Jean had a good sense of humour, was good company, always well informed and curious about life, and loved to learn new things. She embraced life to the fullest and will be deeply missed. Funeral service will be held at St. James Westminster Anglican Church, 115 Askin Street, London, Ontario on Thursday July 25th, 2013 at 1pm, with a reception following in the church hall.
