Clark, Jean Ethel
December 31, 1929 - January 23, 2024
Jean’s legacy is a testament to a 94 year life well-lived. She leaves behind a loving family, including her five children: John (Joan), Paul (Karin), Esther (Murray), Tim (Cynthia), and Phil (Sheila). Predeceased by her husband Orval, she was the youngest of seven in the Tremain family.
Growing up on a farm near Cambridge, Jean’s early life was marked by simplicity. She attended a one-room schoolhouse and often accompanied her father, who delivered mail. After her mother’s passing, she briefly cared for her father before marrying Orval in 1955.
Jean’s devotion extended beyond her family; she was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. Her contributions included quilting with fellow church members, as well as playing the piano and organ during services. She also worked at the post office during Christmas rushes and dedicated 20 years to Canadian Tire.
Her creative spirit lives on through the blankets she knitted and quilted, many of which have been donated, providing warmth to those in need. Jean’s memory will be cherished by those who were touched by her kindness and generosity. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will take place on Saturday January 27, 2024, from 12 pm – 1 pm followed by a funeral service at 1pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock.
A private family burial will take place in the spring.
