Jane Miller

Surrounded by the love and warmth of family, Jane passed away peacefully on Saturday December 30, 2023 at Sakura House Hospice at the age of 83. Predeceased by her cherished husband and best friend Jack, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Dearly loved mother of Mike (Susan) Miller and Leanne (John Hartog) Miller. Very proud grandma of Natalie and Nicole. Predeceased by brother Rick Tuttle.  Survived by sister and brother-in-law Mary and Larry Labatt, sister-in-law Debbie Tuttle. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Jane’s journey began in Windsor, where she was born to Richard and Dorothy Tuttle. At the age of two she moved to London where her two favorite places were Talbot Street Public School and the children’s library on Queen’s Ave. Jane was quite a bookworm as a child and when she grew up she was able to share her love of reading with many children during her over 30 year career in Woodstock as a grade 1 teacher and school librarian. Jane was a great believer in education and while she was a busy mom and dedicated teacher she found the time to complete her university degree at the University of Western Ontario. Jane inspired her children to believe that they could achieve their dreams as long as they worked hard and her children are very grateful for all of the loving support she provided.

Since retiring Jane has kept very busy with many clubs and activities. She loved all of the wonderful trips that she took with Jack and she enjoyed time spent with friends playing bridge, golfing, shopping, and going out to lunch and the theatre. Jane’s life was filled with friends and laughter and joy and it was definitely a life well spent.

Jane’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at WGH and Sakura House for their compassionate care. The warm and caring environment at Sakura House meant so much to Mom and her family.

Visitors will be received at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Tuesday, January 02, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
