LAIRD, James “Jim” –
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Jim at the Woodstock Hospital on Wednesday August 25, 2021 in his 79th year. By his side was his beloved wife of 50 years Gail (Hallgren). Loving father of Fiona (Kevin) Knight and Jamie (Rachael) Laird and cherished grandpa of Sadie and Ewan. Lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Terry and greatly missed by his furry companion Molly. Much loved uncle of Dawn, Dennis, and George. Predeceased by his sisters: Sheila Irvine and Ethel Fordyce.
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland he moved to Canada in 1967. Jim lived in multiple cities in Southern Ontario, until he met his wife Gail and moved to North Bay to raise his family. He repaired many TV and VCRs working for others until he started his business, RJ Electronics.
He was a passionate soccer player, who was known for his headers. Jim loved a good game of badminton and helped to coach his son and others at Chippewa Secondary. When not working or playing soccer, you could find him in his garden or woodworking.
