GORDON, James “Jim” Marshall – Promoted to Glory on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Woodstock Hospital in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Steeves) Gordon for over 69 years. Loving father of Deborah (Ted) Williams, Marg (Ken) Whiting, Jim (Patti) Gordon, and Jeff (Kelly) Gordon. Cherished grandfather of eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Dear brother of Margaret Bessant and Gladys Lowes. Jim started in the mail room at Overland Express and finished his career there of 25 years as C.F.O. He then spent the next 23 years at the O.R.C. (Oxford Regional Centre). Jim was very dedicated to his family and to the Salvation Army Woodstock. He served as Songster Leader for over 58 years and as Acting Band Master for over 42 years. His ability to help and encourage others and unique character will be missed by all who knew him. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday November 4, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service to honour Jim’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel, 769 Juliana Dr., Woodstock, on Saturday November 5, 2022, at 11:00 am. A private family interment will take place in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Salvation Army Woodstock or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated and gratefully acknowledged.
