WATSON, James B. - Surrounded by his loving family at the VON Sakura House, on Thursday, August 27th, 2015. James Byron "Jim" Watson of Woodstock passed away in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Valerie Sue Watson (nee Rowe) (2013). Cherished father of Alison (Robin) Moodie, Heather (Grant) English and Jennifer Williamson. Loved grandfather of Morgan and Amy Moodie; Alyssa and Erin Williamson. Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his close family, friends and neighbours. Jim grew up in Beachville and excelled at hockey. He was the captain of the Woodstock Warriors, was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks and played on their Galt farm team. His love of sports continued as coach of the Legion Branch 55 Girl's Fastball Team, leading them to a provincial championship. Jim managed the local Dairy Queen with his parents and worked as a journeyman "A" lineman for the Woodstock P.U.C. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a past master of Oxford Lodge No. 76 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Jim also belonged to the Eastern Star, Khaki Chapter. The family will receive friends at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Monday, August 31st, 2015 from 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at 1:30pm. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. A Masonic Service will be conducted under the auspices of Oxford Masonic Lodge #76 Monday evening at 6:30pm with an Eastern Star service to follow.
