James "Jim" Verhoef

VERHOEF, James "Jim" - Passed away suddenly as the result of a heart attack at Alexandria Hospital, Ingersoll on Tuesday March 14, 2017 in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Carolyn M. (Nee Leeman) Verhoef for over 50 years. Dear father of LeeAnn (Steve MacDonald) Thomson, Michelle (Chris) Rooke and Judy (Bill) Welten. Loved grandfather to Craig (Megan), Morgan, Cassandra, Jacob, Zach (Carling) and Caleigh (Carlo). Dear brother of Alida deBoer, Helen Versaevel (Alf) and will always be remembered by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, Brian Thomson, extended family and friends. Jim was a past member of the Optimist Club of Embro, Golf North at Cobble Hills and served on the committees of the Embro Library and Oxford County Accessibility. Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday March 17, 2017 from 6-8 pm and again on Saturday from 1:30 - 2:30pm, where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 2:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would favour contributions to Knox United Church Embro or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
