May 26, 1943 — August 22, 2022

STEPHENSON, Jim (James) - It is with profound sadness, but grateful hearts that our precious Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle, Jim (James) Stephenson passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, with his love, Ruth (Knox) by his side. Amazing Dad to Nancy (Nathan) Paulsen and Dave (Michelle) Stephenson. Loving Grandpa to Noah, Ben, Matthew and Claire Paulsen, and Pressley and Turner Stephenson. Brother of late Tom (2018) and Kathy Stephenson, Jean and late John (2017) Lucente, Bill and Molly Stephenson and late Mark (1991) and Brenda (Pete) Ballam. Brother-in-Law of John and Judy Knox, late Don (2016) and Linda Knox, and Kae and Brad Ackland.  Special Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim loved his family and friends, loved life and loved to laugh. He lived his whole life in Oxford County, with the majority as a proud Dairy Farmer in Curries. Jim loved his community and was an active member of Curries United Church, the Oxford Holstein Club and was a dedicated teammate on the Embro, Innerkip and Southeast Hope Tug of War teams for over 40 years. Through these activities, he made many lifelong friendships that were very special to him. Jim enjoyed attending and rarely missed a sports event for each of his 6 grandchildren. He was fiercely proud of them all.

The family will receive friends at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Sunday, August 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm where the funeral service will be in the chapel on Monday, August 29, at 3:00 pm with a time of refreshment, remembrance, and fellowship to follow. Cremation has taken place and interment of ashes at Pleasantview Cemetery, Curries will follow at a future date. The family would like to thank staff at Woodstock Hospital, London Victoria Hospital and University Hospital in London for their care and support during Jim’s brief illness. Please do an Act of Kindness, share a laugh or get together with the important people in your life with Jim in mind. If you feel inclined, make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Jim. www.brockandvisser.com
