James Charles Steele

STEELE, James Charles - Peacefully at the Parkwood Institute in London Ontario on Friday April 15th 2016. Jim Steele of Woodstock was in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Thelma Steele (nee Grimes). Cherished father to Jim (Joanne) Steele and Nora (Walt) Kelly. Always loved and remembered by his grandchildren James (Kim), Karen (Craig), Sandra (Chris), Leanne, Annie (Andrew), Leslie (Scott), and also his 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Jim will be lovingly missed by his sister Dorothy (late John) Kookla and his brother-in-law Ross Pressey. Predeceased by his sisters Madeline Steele, Ruth Steele and Barbara Pressey. He will be remembered by several nieces and nephews. Jim served in the Canadian Navy during WW II, was a longtime member of the Oxford County Naval Veteran's Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55 Woodstock. Cremation has taken place with visitation taking place at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004, on Thursday April 21st 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 am where the Memorial and Legion Service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 11:00 am.
