Marr, James Wayne Jim passed away at Sakura House on Friday, February 15th, with his loving companion Linda at his side. Dear son of Hazel Marr of Komoka, brother to Anne Holmes (Gerry) of London, uncle to Trish Acres (Shawn) of Barrhead, Alberta and Jennifer Claus (Al) of Barrie, Ontario. Jim was predeceased by his father Stanley Marr (1984). After Jim graduated from the University of Guelph in 1969 he worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in Essex County. He later came home to work the farm with his Dad and eventually purchased the family farm. Farming has its own community, and Jim and Linda were so amazed as their friends and neighbours came forward in the fall to make sure his last crop came off, the silo was filled and the plowing got done. Jim was a wise and accomplished dairy farmer. He and Isaak worked tirelessly and were very proud of being the breeder of "Marvale Gibson Dini" who was awarded Grand Champion at the Middlesex County Holstein Show in 2007. Jim enjoyed many sports and reconnected with close friends on yearly outings of skiing and golf, but his favourite was baseball which he played every year since he was a young boy. He was looking forward to the coming 2013 season. We have much appreciation for the exceptional care Jim received at the London Regional Cancer Clinic and on the 7th floor oncology wing of the LHSC, Victoria campus. A special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped care for him. Jim's last weeks were spent with hope, dignity and the loving support of family, friends and the amazing staff at Sakura House. Online condolences and/or contributions can be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or to Sakura House at www.brockandvisser.com or by phone at (519) 539-0004. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at Springfield's Malahide Community Place between 1:00pm and 4:30pm with words of celebration at 1:30pm. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Jim.
