James Robert Mackenzie

MacKenzie, James Robert - Cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many, passed away in Woodstock, Ontario, August 16th, 2021, in his 87th year. Husband of Joyce, (nee Burns) for 46 years. Loving father of Alana, Donna, Nikki (John), Dianne. Grandfather to Ivey (Mark), Robert, Tyler, Alicia (Terrence), Myles, William (Brittany), Kyle (Laura). Great Grandfather to Shannan. Brother to Richard, Donald (Gale), sister-in-law, Linda. Uncle to Tara, Brian (Julie), Alexandra, John, Jason, Mike, Kevin (Erica) Cameron, Ella, and Darrah.
James Robert was predeceased by his parents James Cameron MacKenzie and Elizabeth Perrin, his sister Dorothy, and brothers John and William.
Robert, (Bob) to many and James to others, was not only an exemplary police officer in Westmount and NDG for 32 years but an exceptional human being. In his retirement years, he loved canoeing, golfing and he served on the Board of Retirement Living in Elliot Lake, Ontario, for six years. He was an artistic, charismatic, intelligent man with a keen sense of humour and a sharp wit. Among his family, friends, and peers, he will be remembered for his love of animals, especially his beloved Scotties, Angus, Hamish and currently, Sadie. He will be forever celebrated and deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
A private Celebration of Life for family and friends will follow.
