James Robert Holmes

HOLMES - At his residence on Wednesday May 28, 2003. James "Jim" R. Holmes of Lee Ave., Woodstock in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis J. Holmes (nee Davidson). Dear father of Karl of Hawkesbury, Michael of Toronto, Douglas and his wife Cheryl of Winnipeg and Brenda Batchelor and her husband Nicholas of Alberta. Loved grandfather of Chris, Brian, Scott, Signy, Tegan, Nigel and Sarah. Dear brother of Margaret Moore and her husband Donald and Nancy Lutes and her husband Ralph of New Brunswick. Predeceased by his brother Bryce Holmes. Jim was employed with Lafarge Canada for 35 years and was an Alumni Member of Acadia University. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 603 Adelaide St., Woodstock on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. David Stephens officiating. Interment later in the Maplewood Cemetery, New Brunswick. Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Woodstock General Hospital would be appreciated and may be made through the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, Woodstock (539-0004).
