James Leslie "Jim" Copeland

COPELAND, James Leslie - With loving and heavy hearts the family of the late Jim Copeland announce his passing which occurred suddenly while in China on Wednesday October 2, 2013. For someone who always seemed to be in a hurry, his final chapter is taking place on its own timetable. Sorry Jimmy, there is no "just giv'er" on this one. Jimmy was known to family and anyone who met him for even the briefest time as a legendary story teller. He is making sure that we have a grand story to share now. During this interval between his sudden and untimely passing and his funeral many tears have been shed, but there have been perhaps more laughs and smiles as we remember and cherish all the good times we've shared together that helped make up his epic story repertoire. He will be greatly missed. He was the proud and loving father of Leslie (Robert) Murray and Andrew (Ashleigh Chalkley) Copeland. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Kaitlin and Madyson. Beloved son of Clara Copeland and the late James "Spark" Copeland. Dear brother of Janet Copeland, Jill (John) Crosby, Tom (Gaby) Copeland, Jeff (Anne) Copeland, Paul and Rob Copeland. Sadly missed by his dear friend Sandra Talbot. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday October 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Fr. Richard Dales officiating. A private interment will take place in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
