BOND, Jim - At Woodstock Hospital on Thursday November 22, 2012. James "Jim" Alexander Bond of Woodstock in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Beulah Catherine (nee Strickler) Bond for over 66 years. Dear father of Patricia Kincaid and her husband David of Thamesford and Suzanne Bond of Toronto. Loved grandfather of Amanda Kincaid (Deverall Egan). Dear brother of Florence Carlson (late Arthur) of Red Lake, Ontario, Janette (late Stan) Ratcliffe, Agnes Silcox (late Lance) all of Woodstock and brother-in-law to June Bond of Woodstock, Stanley Strickler (Frances) of Innerkip and June Goff - Smith (late David) of Woodstock. Predeceased by his sister Ella McDonald (Walter), brothers Ernest (Annie) and Arthur Bond and brother-in-law Harvey Strickler (Joye). Jim was a longtime member of College Ave. United Church, the Men's Club at College Ave. United Church, served with the Royal Canadian Navy during and after WW II, was an employee of La France Textiles for 33 years, the O.C.N.V.A. (Navy Club) and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 55, Woodstock. Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday November 27, 2012 from 7-9 pm, where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Lloyd Bennett officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in the Chesterfield Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
