Jack Henry Downey

DOWNEY- Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday January 27th 2010. Jack H. Downey of Woodstock in his 78th year. Beloved husband of 46 years to Heather A. Downey (nee Wilkins). Cherished father of Lynn Chesney and her husband Gord of Innerkip and Cheryl Downey of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Brad Chesney (Liz Phillips) of Woodstock, Greg and Jared Chesney of Innerkip and all his furry friends. Loved son of the late Les and Freida Downey. Dear brother of Gordon Downey and his wife Bernice of Woodstock. Beloved son-in-law of Bertha Wilkins and the late Norman Wilkins. Dear brother-in-law of Janine Price and her husband Russ of Coutts, AB, John Wilkins and his wife Deb of Forest, Mary Colbert and her husband Jim of Arva. Also sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Jack was employed with Standard Tube for many years, later working at the ORC for over 25 years until his retirement. He loved farming and enjoyed his gardens every year. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004), Tuesday February 2, 2010 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm.
