MACKAY, John Willard - Surrounded by family, listening to granddaughter Julie McIntosh sing ‘In the Garden" J. Willard Mackay passed away on the first day of spring, March 21st at the Woodstock Private Hospital. Born in East Zorra Township April 11, 1924, Willard's passion was his family, friends, church, community and farming at Wilmarlea Farms. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years Mary B. (nee Fleming) and father of 7 children, Jane Forster (Jim Hutchinson), John (Susan Schlacpfer), Barbara Flood (Ralph), Eleanor McIntosh (Bill), Ruth Buchner (Paul), Nancy Hazeleger (John) and Joyce Rolph (Perry). Willard was very proud of his 22 grandchildren Jennifer Hutchinson and Kelli Forster (Trevor), Willy and Hayley Mackay, Christy, Matthew (Lindsay), Rob and Carrie (Darren) Flood, Julie, Kimberly, Amy, Sarah and Greg McIntosh, Andrew (Samantha), James (Michelle) and Kevin Buchner, Natalie (Darryl), Allison, Madeline (Josh) and Mark (Jenn) Hazeleger, Luke and Samuel Rolph. He treasured his 5 great grandchildren, Mataya and Summer Spaidal, Audrey and Henry Flood and Avery Buchner. Survived by brother Dwight MacKay, sisters-in-law Arlene MacKay, Kaye Fleming and Margaret Green (Bill). Predeceased by brother Max MacKay, sisters-in-law Jean MacKay, Myrtle Williams (Shelby) and brother-in-law James Fleming. Friends and relatives are invited for a time of visitation at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday March 24, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service to celebrate Willard's life will be held at Knox United Church, Embro on Friday at 11:00 am with Reverend Judy Campbell officiating. Interment later in the North Embro Cemetery.
