Isabel (Gibson) Barnett

BARNETT, Isabel - Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Sunday December 16, 2018 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Fred Barnett (1998) for over 53 years. Dear mother of Susan (late Bruce -2009) Macdonald, Brian (Laurie) Barnett and Linda (Kevin) Smith. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Ann Baker and aunt to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Dora Freeman. Isabel was a long time member of Knox United Church, Embro where she was an active member of the U.C.W. and the Holiday Unit of the U.C.W. Isabel came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She was an avid lawn bowler, reaching all the way to the National level of competition and a dedicated Blue Jays fan. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday December 20, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service to honour Isabel's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Knox United Church, Embro with Rev. Andrea Allan officiating. Interment to follow in the North Embro Cemetery.
