Iris (Metcalfe) Walker

WALKER, Iris - Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Monday, December 3rd, 2012 with family by her side. Iris Walker (nee Metcalfe) of Woodstock was in her 87th year. She was the beloved wife of the late William H. Walker (2002) and dear mother of Linda (Russell) Corbett of Mt. Elgin, Jackie (Jim) Kreuger of Woodstock, Bill Jr. of Woodstock, Elaine (Steve) Morris and Steve (Cindy) of Ingersoll. Iris was the much loved grandmother of seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her siblings Sheila Butler, Freda Pow of England and sister-in-law Marie-Louise of France as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Minnie (nee Cartmale) Metcalfe, her sister Victoria, and brothers Albert Metcalfe of England and Ronald Metcalfe of France. Iris served in the Women's Royal Naval Service. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family at the Brock & Visser Funeral home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday, December 6th, 2012 after 12:00 pm, where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 pm.
