Irene Grace (Rathy) Gibson

GIBSON- Irene Grace (nee Rathy) formerly of the Gobles area, passed away peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock on Sunday, January 2, 2005 in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Donald Gibson (1997). Cherished mother of Barbara Vanbesien and her husband Walter. Loving grandmother of Sandy Philip and her husband Gary of Ilderton, Bonnie Vandescheur and her husband John of Norwich and Daryl Vanbesien and his wife Jeanell of Burlington. Cherished great-grandchildren are Jade, Taylor, Kayla, Matthew, Drew and Madeline. Survived by her sisters Helen (Joe) Fekete, Alice (Ed) Wolfe all of Woodstock and Laraine Kitching of Innerkip and sisters-in-law Bessie Gingrich and Marion Lancaster of Drumbo and Anne Rathy of Brantford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Alex Rathy (1975) and Irma Rathy (1987), her brother Alex Rathy Jr. (1976), her sister Anne Beres (2004) and brother-in-law Ben Beres (2001). It was Irene's wish to leave her time on earth the way she lived it, quietly and with dignity. For this reason, there was a private family service held on Tuesday at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004. Contributions to The Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated. Interment in the Richwood Cemetery.
