COURTNEY- At Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Irene Bernice (nee Magee) Courtney of Princeton in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John "Jack" W. Courtney (2006) for over 60 years. Dear mother of Fred of Woodstock, Bev and his wife Joan of Princeton, Carol Dykstra and her husband Clarence of Woodstock, Lynne McDougall and her husband Chris of Princeton, Anne Schubert and her companion Don Jackson of Paris, Peter and his wife Janice of Woodstock and mother-in-law to Denis Schubert of Paris. Loved grandmother of ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Irene Magee, Anita Magee and Frances Cowan. Also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Jean Racknor and by her brothers Jack and Pat Magee. Irene had been a longtime member of the Princeton United Church, the Princeton UCW, Women's Institute Princeton and the Princeton Historical Society. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am.
