Ida Aletta De Gier

De Gier, Ida Aletta – Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll. Ida was in her 88th year. Loving wife of the late Cornelis “Case” De Gier (2013).  Cherished mother of Jo-Anne (Jake) Veenstra and their family Jocelyn (Dennis), Deona (Stephen), Timothy (Karly), Jeff (Janna);  Harry (Shelley) De Gier and their family Cody, Evan (Marinda), Morgan; , Annette (Frank) Werkema and their family Kevin (April), Michelle (Darryl), Laura (Phil), Jennifer (Brian); Ida (Bruce) Klein Geltink and their family Matthew (Sarah), Kristin (Mike); Carol (Dick) Verbeek and their family David (Sijia), Kara (Thomas) Jason; Marjorie (Bas) Groeneweg and their family Melanie (Nathan), Karen (Brent), Justin (Olivia), Janice (Michael); and Joyce (David) De Gier Vander Spek and their family Andrew (Kaitland), Leah and Jonathan (Maya).  Dear Oma of thirty-two great grandchildren. Loved sister of Jan VanOostveen, Roel (Annie) VanOostveen, Kryn VanOostveen, Anna (Peter) Geene, Wynand (Sue Anne) VanOostveen, Willie (Sergio) Ruiter, sister-in-law of Thelma DeGier, Al DeVries and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Corrie DeVries, and brothers Case and Wim Van Oostveen. Ida was a long-time member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church, Woodstock, and past resident of Oxford Gardens Woodstock where she made many friends.  A visitation to celebrate Ida’s life will take place at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 410 Lansdowne Ave., Woodstock on Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 6-8 pm. Visitors are required to RSVP their attendance on the funeral home website before arriving. A private family service will be held the following day. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
