Ian Arthur Gibson

GIBSON, Ian A. - Peacefully at his residence in London on Tuesday February 2nd, 2016 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Irene L. (nee Lally) Gibson for over 46 years. Dear father to Lori (DJ) Ross and Sherry (Geoff) Doerr. Cherished grandfather of Kelsey and Cameron Ross, Ashton and Tyler Smith and Victoria Doerr. Loved brother to Ken (Barbara) Gibson, Donna (Tom) Ellerby, Warren (Terri) Gibson and brother-in-law to Jack (Marilyn) Lally, Sue (late Roger) Sysiuk, Dan (Wendy) Lally and Robert Lally. Predeceased by his parents John and Jean Gibson, by his parents-in-law Thomas and Ivy Lally and by his sister-in-law Ann Burden. Ian was a past National Officer (Treasurer) of the Assoc. of Kinsmen. He had an absolute passion for life. Whether it was his work at POW Laboratories, playing hockey or golf or spending time with family and friends, he gave it his all. Friends and family are invited to join together for a time of visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday February 16, 2016 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany, 560 Dundas St., Woodstock on Wednesday at 11:30 am with Rev. Steven Hendry officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society of Oxford County of the Church or the Epiphany Organ Restoration Fund would be appreciated.
