CHAMPEAU - Peacefully at Sakura House, Woodstock on Friday July 16, 2010. Howard George Champeau of Woodstock in his 87th year. Beloved friend of Rena Kerr and dear husband of the late Catherine MacGregor (nee Lawrence) Champeau. Loved father of Bert Champeau and his wife Marga and Della Hogen and her husband Renne all of Holland. Dear grandfather of Jordy, Priscilla, Guido and Ragna and great grandfather of Emma and Quinty. Howard will be remembered by his brothers Guy (Betty) of Woodstock, Stan (Joanne) of Eden, Raymond (Erin) of Belleville and by his sister Marion Willey of Quebec. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Beatrice Flanagan, Doris Dugas, Della Champeau, Vivian Beakes and by his brothers Grayson and Henry. Howard served during WW II and was a longtime active member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday July 20, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Boctor officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment later in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford. Contributions to the Legion Poppy Fund or Sakura House would be appreciated.
